WELCOME TO KINDERGARTEN

MY STORY
Meet Mrs. Saliano!
Hello! I'm Brittany Saliano and I have been a teacher for 12 years. All of those years have been in kindergarten, where I belong!

I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2010, earning a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. During my senior year at UTA, I was chosen to be one of nine Kindergarten Early Childhood Assistants, and worked in a classroom while going to school full-time. It was there that I fell in love with kindergarten. My mentor teacher, Mrs. Patti Belknap, had taught kindergarten for 33 years, and she showed me just how magical this age really is! I learned so much as an assistant and couldn't wait to get a kindergarten class of my own.

I taught in Crowley for three years at Parkway Elementary. After that I spent eight years at Arlington Classics Academy, where I spent four years as team leader. After some contemplation, I realized that I needed to return to public school. I spent one year at Butler Elementary, and then was surplussed to Foster Elementary.

I grew up in Red Oak and Waxahachie, graduating in the top 10% of my class from Waxahachie High School, where I participated in Honor Society. I was also a member of the Cherokee Charmer Drill Team for three years, and for two of those years I was a drill team leader. I also spent time volunteering every week of my senior year at a- wait for it- kindergarten campus!

I love my family and spending time with them. I have been married for 16 years to my awesome husband, Matt, and we have a 6-year-old son, Theo. Matt works in the technology field. Theo loves cars, electronics, karate, and being silly! We live in Ft. Worth, my home for the last 16 years.

When I'm not teaching or thinking about teaching or planning for teaching, you can usually find me cross stitching, watching historical dramas and movies, listening to audiobooks and podcasts, drinking Earl Grey tea or Italian coffee, or doing some other random craft! I also love eating interesting foods and baking desserts to satisfy my sweet tooth. I have recently gotten into bike riding, and my son and I try to go when the weather is nice!

If you ever feel generous and want to spoil me a little, please check out my Amazon wish list for the classroom by clicking this link here. My favorite Starbucks drink is the Caramel Macchiato if you want to grab me a drink on your way to school!
